Jack Daniel's
Heard Around the Table

You can imagine that Lynne and the hostesses have met some pretty interesting folks. In fact, Lynne keeps a journal of all the funny stories she and the others hear around the boarding house tables.

One day after dinner a guest asked if I knew the name of the man standing near the front door. I told her it was the undertaker for a funeral home in Fayetteville. She said, "What does he do, just hang around in case someone eats himself to death?"

After making reservations the day before, a couple from England visited us and sat at my table. When I left the room, the gentleman told everyone that when he called for reservations, he was laughing so hard he could barely talk to me because I sounded like someone from "Gone With the Wind." He never knew people actually talked like that --he thought it was just "movie talk."

In the spirit of her uncle, Lynne is also an official taster for the Jack Daniel Distillery and likes to share with friends her tasting technique as well as a drink recipe or two.
